Festival The Other Book
Festival The Other Book is a unique celebration of artists’ books in all its facets. It is the first biennial event in The Hague that combines an art book fair with exhibitions, workshops, talks, presentations, demonstrations, films, and performances at various locations. Each edition focuses on a different kind of ‘other book’. The first edition of The Other Book (29 November – 1 December 2019) is devoted to the Riso revolution: artists’ books produced with Risograph and Mimeograph stencil duplicators.
The Grafische Werkplaats is a festivallocation and has an active programme: a special exhibition Wobby Wall (seen untill 10 Feb 2020) and different workshops.
Workshop Stencil Printing (with Gestetner) by Erwin Blok
(basic printing experience needed)
Erwin Blok invites you to a stencil-printing workshop. Learn all about the Gestetner and the mimeograph printing technique from the ‘stencil king’ and Gestetner-fanatic Erwin Blok. Gestetner is a stencilduplicator, created back in 1879. With a stencilduplicator, each color is printed seperately. You will learn about the esthetics of the Gesterner stencilsduplicators and the possibilities that they offer.
If you don’t have experience in making your design print ready, check out the workshop ‘make your design print ready’ by Julian Sirre, Wednesday 13 November 2019.
