close
In the coming months, the Grafische Werkplaats building will undergo major renovations and sustainability upgrades. As a result, the workshop will temporarily move from the Prinsegracht to De Helena – just 270 meters away. What may sound simple is actually quite the operation: the entire building on the Prinsegracht must be completely cleared out.

Huge relocation, means a huge clean-up

Grafische Werkplaats at Prinsegracht will close per Monday July 14th 2025. We’ll reopen our doors in the temporary location at Helena van Doeverenplantsoen 3 op Monday September 1st 2025.

The coming weeks till the closure, we’re very busy with a huge clean-up action to prepare for packing. All materials that are not the property of Grafische Werkplaats should be picked up by their owners during this period.
On Wednesday July 9th we’re organizing a Browse + Take Day for any inventory we’re not bringing to the temporary location. You’re warmly invited to drop by and see if there’s anything you could use. Anything you’re interested in is free to take – but only on that day. Small donations are much appreciated.

Summerstop + Limitations

Between the closure of the Prinsegracht location and the reopening at De Helena (from July 14th to August 31st), unfortunately it won’t be possible to work in the workshop. We hope for your understanding during this transition period.

Working in De Helena

Helena van Doeverenplantsoen 3, 2512 ZB Den Haag
De Helena is a former school building that already houses several cultural organizations and has its own café space, where various creative food initiatives are active. We’re already collaborating with some of them, and we’re looking forward to being – even if temporarily – part of this vibrant community.

Billytown – Energiekas – Hgtomi Rosa activiteiten – Stichting Ruimtevaart
Goed Eten – Conscious Kitchen – Ran’s Kantine – De Volkskeuken.

Practical:
Opening hours
The opening hours will remain the same as at the Prinsegracht: mon/wed/frid 9:00-17:00h.
Entrance
We’ll use the entrance shared with Billytown and Ruimtevaart, on the side of Lange Beestenmarkt.
Facilities
Not all facilities will move to De Helena:
• The large litho press and large etching press will stay behind.
• A selection of silkscreen printing tables and only a limited number of litho stones will be brought.
Return to Prinsegracht
The return to Prinsegracht is currently scheduled for January 2026 – this is provisional. Of course, we’ll keep you updated along the way.
