Join us for a conversation on surrealism, art and printmaking between Jordan Herregraven and Ewoud van Rijn. Beside the talk, the latest IN HOK publication all about Jordan Herregraven will be released during this evening.
Jordan Herregraven lives and works in The Hague and spend the last few months professionalising his printmaking thanks to the municipality of The Hague. What he has in mind is the combination of print and sculpture. This requires him to acquire in-depth craft knowledge of traditional graphic techniques, in order to start experimenting with them. He gives a new twist to traditional art forms. Jordan Herregraven is thus building on his current work, in which he alternates and combines the etching technique with sculpture. Jordan believes that the recent developments in his work are only starting points for his own clear language, in which he can continue to experiment and add and combine new materials and graphic techniques.
Jordan Herregraven’s solo exhibition ‘The Untold Histories as Perceived Through the Horse’s Tear’ is currently on view at HOK Gallery in The Hague, just around the corner from Grafische Werkplaats.
IN HOK #20 publication all about Jordan Herregraven will be released during the event can be pre-ordered info@hokgallery.com The exhibition is on view till 23.07.22
Jordan will be joined in conversation by Ewoud van Rijn. He Rijn positions his work within, beyond, aside and in front of everyday reality. Its content is fuelled by the ever recurring discussion on the end of art, which is taken as a metaphor for today’s cultural and moral state of affairs. Currently his focus is on researching the cultural dimensions of Neo-Paganism, specifically Wicca or Modern Witchcraft. Furthermore he is teacher and team leader of the Fine Art section Painting and Printmaking at the KABK in The Hague.
This project is possible with help of ‘Makersregeling Gemeente Den Haag’.
