20 July until half September
The Central Library and te Grafische Werkplaats present the exhibition LETTTERS during the summer holidays, with work by: Annesas Appel, Qasim Arif, Studio Eyal & Myrthe, Saber Javanmard, Said Kinos and Dennis Koot.
LETTTERS is an art project in which fun with letters is paramount. In this project we deliberately consider what a letter is – the shape of a letter, the typeface – in which analog and digital versions are not opposites, but rather reinforce each other. The group of professional makers investigates the contemporary form and visual language of letters and what results this can produce in graphic techniques.
And if you want to get started with letters and printing techniques yourself, reserve a spot in one of the workshops for everyone from 7 years old. Experiment with language, letters and poems inspired by Dadaist sound poems and make your own printing. Reservations can be made via the library’s agenda. Free admission, reservation required and full= full. The workshops are on Wed. 27 July, 3, 10 and 17 Aug (start 11:00 and 14:00).
LETTTERS is a collaboration between The Hague Library and the Grafische Werkplaats and is made possible in part by Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Zuid Holland and Geld voor je Kunst van CultuurSchakel.
