Grafische Werkplaats Den Haag 9 May-12 July 2024
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Grafische Werkplaats Den Haag. In 1974, a group of artists squatted the building where the graphic workshop is still located. The Analog 74-24 festival celebrates this feat and looks to the future with an extensive program on activism and community.

Symposium on contemporary activism in art and in particular graphic art. With artists and experts Florian Cramer, Hester Scheurwater, Domenique Himmelsbach de Vries, Joyce Gülay and Jan-Dirk de Wilde (KNUST, Extrapool), Carol Wells (Centre for the Study of Political Graphics, USA), Dennis Elbers (Graphic Matters), a performance by Vølksamt!, and hosts Topp & Dubio.

The exhibition 50 Jaar Grafiek op de Bres at the Grafische Werkplaats forms the heart of the festival. Several artists were invited to work in the Graphic Workshop to investigate the role graphic techniques and the workshop can play in their work practice. This resulted in a wide range of inspiring, thought-provoking, and activating works. Participating Artists: Domenique Himmelsbach-de Vries, Feministische Handwerk Partij, Shani Leseman en GC Heemskerk, Zeloot, Matt Plezier & Marcos Kueh.
